Inventory Management (IM)

The heart to a good POS system.

We block the Quantity On Hand field from data entry a field that can be viewed only, meaning the user is unable to change the QOH count.

  • How do we adjust the QOH count?
  1. At inventory item creation the quantity can be set.
  2. When Receiving product the inventory quantity is incremented, added.
  3. During Inventory Audit the quantity is adjusted.
  4. When products are sold the quantity is decremented.

Hints about SIMS Data Management and Record Keeping.

  • File structure is Dbase IV.
  • Import and Export of data is not restricted. Structures used are ODBC, CSV, Dbase III, Foxpro DB, Oracle 7 & 8, Informix 8, Paradox, SQL and more.
  • Schema Item verify reads.
  • Data corruption. Instruction on how to use Lotus file compression.
  • All of our data tables are not protected from the user. This means our data tables are an open source for the owner. The owner is free to write there own applications with access it the store data.

SIMS~RICS - Remote Inventory Collection System. An inventory management process that reads collected barcode data from Symbol's CS-1504 Thumb scanner. WAA-RICS then processes the data for the following functions.

  • Product Receiving
  • Product Orders
  • Inventory Audits
  • Sales Collection.

SIMS~CID - A neat program that records incomming calls. Then attaches an address with comments and write the information in a daily log. Then displays in a large screen the caller's Name, phone number, and address. Prints a slip or comment sheet. It useed for companies who deliver food or other products also for any business or agencies where phone calls need to be monitored and/orlogged. A poor man's 911 system. Hardware and software can support up to 52 lines and a database of 50,000+ addresses.

SIMS~CTAX - State Sales Use Tax. State of Colorado sales and use tax reporting for all counties.

SIMS~VIMA - Vehicle Information Management Assistant. This application processes the State of Colorado Department of Revenue - Title Section forms. Prints forms using the offical SOC format. Stores the electronic data for research and reprinting.
